  • Borden Estate has three buildings with accommodations, two of which must be booked for events - The Mansion and Stone House. The Mansion has 18 bedrooms and 10 Bathrooms. The Stone House has 3 Bedrooms and 3 bathrooms as well as two attached cottages, one has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom and the other has one bedroom and 2 bathrooms. There is also the Bunk House, which has 9 dormitory rooms with 40 beds and dormitory-style bathrooms. This can be booked for guests or vendors.

  • Check in is 2pm Friday and Check out is 12pm Sunday. Early Check in and Late Check out can be added for additional fees based on availability and the requested times.

  • Tents can begin setup Thursday morning and have to be out Sunday at 5pm.

    Vendors can begin loading in on Friday at 10am, and must be fully broken down, packed up and loaded out Sunday by 5pm.

  • Every vendor must provide a Certificate of Insurance in order to work on the property.

  • There is no power for tented celebrations. A generator must be brought in.

  • There are not enough restrooms for tented weddings, so portable restrooms trailers must be brought in. Restrooms should come with water as there is not a nearby water source at the tent locations.

  • There are no garbage containers for events, so everything brought in, must be brought out.

  • There is an open field perfect for guest parking that can hold 75 vehicles.

  • Every client must provide liability insurance to protect themselves and their guests. You can also acquire insurance via http://privateeventinsurance.com or http://wedsafe.com .

  • No wedding planner is included in the space rental. Each couple must hire their own wedding planner, or at least a month of / day of coordinator to manage load in, the event production and breakdown.

  • You can work with any rental company to provide tables, chairs, linens, flatware, glassware, kitchenware, etc. The venue does not provide any rentals for events.

  • Tenting is the best way to accommodate large events and weddings on the property. There are two preferred locations for large tents. Tents can also be utilized on the rear terrace of the Mansion and on the bluestone patio of the Stone House.

  • You can host events inside the mansion on the first floor and your caterer is welcome to use the kitchen for food prep and service. They may use the refrigerators, the oven and the stove. The dishwasher is not available for guest use.

  • Yes you can grill outside as long as you do not cause any damage to the landscape and as long as the grill is at least 100 feet from any structures.

  • There is absolutely no smoking allowed inside. Vaping is also not allowed inside. If smoking is detected there will be a $350 smoking fee per room in which it is detected.

  • We work with Allseated to help create floor plans accurate to our spaces. Your wedding planner and or caterer should be able to create floor plans for you. We have some samples we are happy to share.

  • Open flame candles must be contained in a base with glass (hurricane lamps) to protect the flame from drafts.

  • We schedule tours by appointment only. There are no drop in visits allowed. You can email info@bordenestate.com to schedule a tour.

  • Borden Estate will have one property manager on site for your event weekend. They are not your wedding planner and they will not manage your event schedule. They will be there to work with the caterer and planner and answer any and all questions they may have.

  • Your caterer and or florist/ decorator will be responsible to clean up all spaces they use. Everything they bring in must go out. There is no dumpster on site.

  • We host one event and or group on the property per weekend. The weekend begins Friday and ends Sunday.

  • There are no sound ordinances in the town, but we are respectful of our neighbors so all amplified music must end by Midnight.

  • There is no coat check, but your caterer can provide this if you would like it.

  • The Mansion and Stone House have heating and air conditioning.

  • There are multiple fireplaces on property, and you are able to use them as long as the flue is open. There is a wood charge of $300.

  • There are multiple beautiful outdoor options for your ceremony. There is also a theater in the Barn that is great for an indoor ceremony. For a more intimate indoor ceremony the first floor of the Mansion offers a couple of beautiful options.

  • There are a couple of options for spaces to get ready. Large rooms in The Mansion and Stone House work well, and the Brick Office located next to the Stone House is another great option.

  • There is no house sound system available. Your band and/ or DJ can provide one or multiple, as needed.

  • Yes, you can set up a day early for an additional fee.

  • Yes, you can drop off items early for an additional fee.

  • We do not offer housekeeping for the rooms.

  • We sure do! The bathrooms include soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

  • There is internet in the Mansion and Stone House. We are on 200 acres so the internet is not available everywhere on the property, but it is available in the main gathering areas and for guests staying overnight.

  • You can hire valet service if you like. Valet service is not included.

  • All major credit cards and bank transfers are accepted.

  • Sorry, no pets allowed.

  • Typical weddings are 6 hours long, with 5-hour open bars: 1 hour for arrival and ceremony, 1 hour for cocktails, and 4 hours for dinner and dancing. We do not allow open bars beyond 6 hours.

  • You sure can! If you’d like it tuned it costs $250.

  • Yes, you can have the tents conditioned. The tents would need sidewalls to retain the heat or AC. Adding temperature control to tents can add up, but it is possible and would be provided by the tent company.
